Gary H. Loeb

Gary H. Loeb is general counsel and chief compliance officer at Intuitive. He leads a global organization responsible for legal, compliance, and corporate governance.

Loeb has decades of experience in areas including patent strategy, collaborations and licensing, clinical and medical affairs, ethics, legal operations, compliance, and regulatory.

Before joining Intuitive, Loeb served as general counsel for several public and private medical diagnostic and therapeutic firms including, most recently, Mammoth Biosciences, from July 2021 to September 2022, Sangamo Therapeutics from July 2019 to July 2021, and Achaogen from November 2016 to June 2019 Prior to his roles as general counsel, Mr. Loeb spent 11 years leading intellectual property and litigation at Genentech, most recently as VP, Intellectual Property. Prior to Genentech, he was an associate at law firms in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Loeb earned a BS in biological sciences and a BA in English from Stanford University. He holds a JD from Columbia Law School.
