A training roadmap

Our academic programs provide training pathways to technical and clinical proficiency. Phased curricula start with an introduction to da Vinci surgical systems and core skill drills. Final phases include surgeon-led advanced training with intraoperative skills application. These programs provide an option to earn a Training Equivalency Certificate. In addition, learning at Intuitive is supported by technologies such as My Intuitive, dual da Vinci surgeon consoles, and immersive simulations with SimNow.

Experience through simulation

SimNow is Intuitive's simulator for da Vinci surgical systems. Simulation exercises are woven into your training pathway with system skills practice, procedure training, and virtual reality experiences. SimNow has a growing library of realistic simulations and provides performance measurement and customizable curricula to track skills development.

Side-by-side mentorship

Da Vinci systems support a dual-console configuration, enabling side-by-side mentorship during procedures. Operating with a dual console provides shared training tools, including virtual pointers, give-and-take control functions, emergency stop safety features, and touch-enabled on-screen annotation capability.

Da Vinci X & Xi Surgical Systems
The Intuitive Surgical Endoscopic Instrument Control Systems (da Vinci X and da Vinci Xi Surgical Systems) are intended to assist in the accurate control of Intuitive Surgical Endoscopic Instruments during urologic surgical procedures, general laparoscopic surgical procedures, gynecologic laparoscopic surgical procedures, general thoracoscopic surgical procedures, and trans-oral otolaryngology surgical procedures restricted to benign tumors and malignant tumors classified as T1 and T2, and for benign base of tongue resection procedures. The systems are indicated for adult and pediatric use (except for trans-oral otolaryngology surgical procedures). They are intended to be used by trained physicians in an operating room environment.

The da Vinci X and da Vinci Xi Surgical Systems are class IIb medical devices CE marked (CE 2460) under the European Medical Devices Directive (93/42/EEC), manufactured by Intuitive Surgical, Inc. Refer to Instructions For Use before use.
